This perfect Amaretto Sour recipe was created by bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler in 2012. If you don’t like the idea of adding raw egg white to your drink then you can simply leave it out. ( add it to taste) Adding extra alcohol will also increase the kick of your cocktail. Add a half ounce or so of egg white in the shaker ( Makes it frothy) The simple syrup is actually optional. You can use pasteurised egg whites from a carton in cocktails for ease. Add vanilla vodka one to one with the amaretto. The egg white needs to be shaken without ice – this is called a “Dry Shake” – to create the best foam. It is a common ingredient in some sour cocktails, like the Pisco Sour.
